As the summer sun melts the snow, Pikes Peak is gearing up for an exciting lineup of events in the month of June. From family-friendly activities to the 103rd running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, there is something for everyone to enjoy on America’s Mountain. 

Monday to Sunday, June 2 – 8: Pikes Peak International Hill Climb testing 

Pikes Peak - America's Mountain will be holding all uphill traffic to the summit until 8:30am for the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb Testing Days June 2- 8. There will still be access to Crystal Reservoir with a paid admission and $1 parking permit. The Pikes Peak Highway will open to the summit for normal operations at 8:30 a.m. For additional information visit www.ppihc.org

Friday, June 6: National Donut Day 

Celebrate Donut Day on Pikes Peak – and Leave No Crumbs on Friday, June 6 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Activities include an interactive “Donut Day Passport”, Ranger interpretations about water pollution, local wildlife and the history of Pikes Peak donuts at Crystal Reservoir, Glen Cove and the Summit. Donuts will be available for purchase at all three locations. All Donut Day activities are free, but a timed entry permit or shuttle ticket is required. Peak Highway admission can be purchased online or at the Gateway.  

Sunday, June 15: Father’s Day Discount 

Celebrate Father’s Day on Pikes Peak – America’s Mountain. Dad will get in free of charge with a paid admission and a $2 timed entry permit on Sunday, June 16.  

June 17 – 20: Pikes Peak International Hill Climb Race Week 

From Tuesday, June 17 to Friday, June 20, Pikes Peak - America's Mountain will be holding all uphill traffic on the Pikes Peak Highway to the summit until 8:30 a.m. for the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb Practice Days. There will still be access to Crystal Reservoir with a daily entry and parking permit. The Pikes Peak Highway will open to the summit for normal operations at 8:30 a.m. For additional information visit www.ppihc.org

Sunday, June 22: Pikes Peak International Hill Climb 

On Sunday, June 22, the Pikes Peak Highway will be closed all day for the 103rd running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. For more information regarding the race and to purchase tickets, visit www.ppihc.org.  

Saturdays and Sundays in June: Ranger Interpretation Programs 

On Saturdays and Sundays in June, Pikes Peak – America’s Mountain will offer Ranger Interpretation Programs at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Crystal Reservoir. Guests will learn about bighorn sheep, Pikes Peak history and hiking essentials. These events are free to attend and do not require additional reservations once you purchase a One-Day Admission and a $2 Timed Entry Permit

  • Saturday, June 21: Crystal Reservoir/ Ranger Talk / PPAM Ranger Kent 
  • Sunday, June 22: No programming due to Pikes Peak International Hill Climb 
  • Saturday, June 28: No programming  
  • Sunday, June 29: Crystal Reservoir / Bighorn Sheep / PPAM Ranger Laraine 

For guests who prefer not to drive to the Summit, Pikes Peak shuttles are available at Mile 7. Shuttles travel to key stops from May 23 through select weekends in September, operating daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Stops include Crystal Creek Reservoir, Glen Cove Inn, Devils Playground, and the Pikes Peak Summit.
