Passenger traffic at Colorado Springs Airport (COS) has seen some promising signs of improvement after the decline reported in recent months, with a total 193,394 passengers— a 3.1 percent decrease from March 2024. The Airport remains committed to COS’ long-term growth through its ongoing efforts to promote and attract air service. Seat availability has increased by 6.6 percent year-over-year, setting the stage for a robust 2025 as travel demand is expected to rise through spring and summer. The average load factor for the month stood at 76.5 percent, aligning with typical early-year travel patterns.
Notable airport updates
- Southwest Airlines will begin seasonal international service to Cancun (CUN) June 7, 2025 – August 2, 2025, and will return in the fall for flights on November 22 and 29, December 20 and 27, and January 3, 2026. Tickets are on sale now.
- The new Federal Inspection Station (FIS) is scheduled to open in June 2025, in time for the new international flights. Southwest Airlines is set to begin year-round service to San Diego (SAN) on October 2, 2025. Tickets are on sale now.
- COS has successfully completed a comprehensive three-day annual inspection by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), earning a zero-discrepancy report.
