The commercial airlines operating at the Colorado Springs Airport (COS) reported a decline in passenger traffic in July 2025, with 242,314 travelers passing through the terminal, a 3.4 percent decrease compared to July 2024. Enplanements fell 3.1 percent year-over-year, while seat availability rose by 1.3 percent. The overall load factor was 80.5 percent, down 3.7 percentage points from the same month last year. This decline is consistent with national trends, as airports across the country are experiencing reduced demand. Both American Airlines and Delta Air Lines experienced double-digit growth in enplanements, supported by new service to Chicago O’Hare (ORD), seasonal service to Minneapolis–St. Paul (MSP), and a second frequency to Atlanta (ATL) and Salt Lake City (SLC). United Airlines also achieved double-digit growth, driven by an additional frequency to Denver (DEN) and increased capacity through larger aircraft. COS remains focused on strategic, long-term growth through expanded air service offerings and airline partnerships, positioning the airport to serve as a key travel hub for the Pikes Peak region.
