SUBJECT: Village Green Park Self-Evaluation
1. On 11/30/2021, Title II ADA / Section 504 Coordinator(s) from the Office of Accessibility performed a Title II - Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Self-Evaluation. This evaluation was performed in accordance with 1991/2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design.
2. Priorities for removing barriers are assigned in accordance with the ADA Checklist for Existing Facilities, promulgated by the ADA National Network. The checklist follows the four priorities listed in the Department of Justice ADA Title III regulations. These priorities are equally applicable to state and local government facilities:
Priority 1 - Accessible approach and entrance
Priority 2 - Access to goods and services
Priority 3 - Access to public toilet rooms
Priority 4 - Access to other items such as water fountains and public telephones
3. Corrective actions to findings were / will be submitted to the City maintenance work request system and will be managed in accordance with the City Transition Plan. Note: Recommended corrections may be modified where appropriate. Corrections are developed in consideration of the “Program Access” provisions of Title II, where applicable.

This storm drain grate, located just beyond the first turn to the baseball field, has gaps as wide 1" parallel to the route of travel.
It also sits on four pads of concrete with an excessive cross slope to direct water down to the drain. The cross slope of these pads measures from 2.4% to 9.9%.
Further, there is a lot of debris in this area.
Recommendation:
Consult engineering to explore alternatives to this design that would direct pedestrian travel around the drain along a level route.
If a pedestrian route would cross the grate make sure the openings are 1/2" wide or less perpendicular to the route of travel.

Each toilet room and bathing room shall be accessible. Where a floor level is not required to be connected by an accessible route, the only toilet rooms or bathing rooms provided within the facility shall not be located on the inaccessible floor. Except as provided for in Sections 1109.2.2 and 1109.2.3, at least one of each type of fixture, element, control or dispenser in each accessible toilet room and bathing room shall be accessible.
2010 ADAS Section 213.1
Where toilet facilities and bathing facilities are provided, they shall comply with 213. Where toilet facilities and bathing facilities are provided in facilities permitted by 206.2.3 Exceptions 1 and 2 not to connect stories by an accessible route, toilet facilities and bathing facilities shall be provided on a story connected by an accessible route to an accessible entrance.

As Built:
The porta potty is a standard construction type unit. Also, the pavement leading to the porta-potty has up to 1" vertical displacment in the path of travel to it.
Recommendation:
Obtain and place an accessible unit on a level, debris-free area.
Barrier Priority:
