SUBJECT: Wildflower Park Self-Evaluation
1. On 10/28/2021, Title II ADA / Section 504 Coordinator(s) from the Office of Accessibility performed a Title II - Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Self-Evaluation. This evaluation was performed in accordance with 1991/2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design.
2. Priorities for removing barriers are assigned in accordance with the ADA Checklist for Existing Facilities, promulgated by the ADA National Network. The checklist follows the four priorities listed in the Department of Justice ADA Title III regulations. These priorities are equally applicable to state and local government facilities:
Priority 1 - Accessible approach and entrance
Priority 2 - Access to goods and services
Priority 3 - Access to public toilet rooms
Priority 4 - Access to other items such as water fountains and public telephones
3. Corrective actions to findings were / will be submitted to the City maintenance work request system and will be managed in accordance with the City Transition Plan. Note: Recommended corrections may be modified where appropriate. Corrections are developed in consideration of the “Program Access” provisions of Title II, where applicable.

There are no accessible parking stalls. Based on 20 total parking spaces, at least one is required to be accessible. When only one is provided, it is required to be van accessible.

As Built:
There are 20 parking spaces but none are marked accessible. The one that is assumed to be the accessible stall has a 3.4% slope and measures 8'10" with a 5'10" access aisle that has up to a 3.1% slope. There are no signs or symbols designating this as accessible parking.
Recommendation:
Replace parking stall and access aisle to 2% slope in all directions and stripe the parking lot to provide a van-accessible space and access aisle. A van-accessible space can be either 8'-0" wide with an 8'-0" wide access aisle or an 11'-0" wide parking space with a 5'-0" wide access aisle.

The cross slope on the ramp face is 4.5%.
There is up to 1/2" vertical displacement.

The southernmost route into the park from Nolte Dr. down to the four-way convergence of paths has 16 pads of concrete with a high running and/or cross slope. Six pads of concrete have high cross slopes between 2.8-5.4%. 15 pads have high running slopes between 5.6-10.3%. In this stretch are correct. 5 pads exceed 8.33%.
Recommendation:
Remove and replace the six pads that have excessive cross slope and designate this route as not accessible as it is not feasible to achieve a compliant running slope on this route. The northernmost route into the park near Nolte Dr and Ivor Dr should be designated as the accessible route into the park.
