Phased rollout planned for Class 1 e-bikes on City of 
Colorado Springs’ trails

As of July 1, 2025,  Class 1 e-bikes* are permitted on select urban and regional trails in Colorado Springs. Please use the interactive map below to find the list of trails and plan your route. 

E-bikes of all classes are not permitted on City of Colorado Springs open space properties. 

*Class 1 e-bikes require pedaling for battery assistance, have a top assisted speed of 20 mph and do not have a throttle. Per city code, Class 2 and Class 3 e-bikes and all motorized use continue to be prohibited on all trails. The complete rules and regulations for e-bike use are here.

Other Power-Driven Motorized Device (OPDMD)
