Overview
The Construction of Rock Island Trail from Van Buren Street to Templeton Gap, including underpasses at Nevada and Cascade avenues is now complete. This 1.25 miles of trail, a part of the Legacy Loop, now offers a key connection between Shooks Run Trail and the Pikes Peak Greenway.

This project is funded by the Trails, Open Space and Parks (TOPS) Sales Tax program, the Parkland Dedication Ordinance (PLDO) as well as from grants from the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) and Colorado the Beautiful.
