Overview
This summer, the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department (PRCS) will be working to enhance the existing playground structure in Woodland Hills Park in northeast Colorado Springs. This project will enhance the play experience and improve accessibility for all visitors.
Key features of the renovation include:
- The installation of a more accessible play surface
- ADA improvements, including a new ramp providing access to the play pit
- The addition of an accessible picnic table.
- The installation of a new play structure.
Funding for this project has been secured through the Trails, Open Space and Parks (TOPS) sales and use tax program and the City of Colorado Springs Office of Accessibility.

Help celebrate the opening of the new Woodland Hills Park Playground! The project included removing damaged play equipment and sand surfacing, installing new play equipment and seating, and adding ADA improvements such as a ramp into the play pit, a concrete walk for better access, and an engineered wood fiber play surface.
