What began as a simple, lighthearted idea to bring our community together has grown into one of our most anticipated annual traditions — CSPD K9 March Madness!
Every March, our incredible CSPD K9s face off in a fun and friendly bracket-style competition to determine who will earn the coveted title of Top Dog. What started as a casual engagement initiative has become a full-blown community event that people look forward to all year long.
Here’s how it works:
Throughout the month of March, we post K9 matchups on our Facebook page. Each post features two of our K9s, and the community votes by liking or reacting to their favorite contender. At the end of each round, the K9 with the most votes advances, while the other is respectfully eliminated from the running. The brackets narrow day by day until only one champion remains.
The best part? It’s completely driven by you — our community. Your votes, your enthusiasm, and your support make this competition a true celebration of the bond between our officers, their K9 partners, and Colorado Springs residents.
Last year, K9 Kai claimed the crown after an impressive run through the brackets. With a new lineup of determined competitors this year, the big question is: Who will take the title next?
