Our Mission
The Military Spouse Community Coalition (MSCC) is a collaborative effort of community leaders, local, state, and federal government agencies, businesses, nonprofits, and like-minded partners to promote meaningful workforce opportunities and support legislation and community initiatives that impact quality of life for Colorado Springs military families.
Driving Impact with Three Strategic Goals:
Workforce Development
We facilitate meaningful military spouse workforce opportunities through job and employment preparation assistance, employer partner engagement, career options, and community best practices
Community Engagement
We spotlight and promote local, state, and national quality of life resources for military spouses.
Legislative Affairs
We educate, support, and advocate for legislation and Department of Defense (DoD) initiatives for military-affiliated quality of life issues.

Unlock the Potential of Military Spouses in Your Workforce
- Military spouses are highly educated, resilient, diverse, and extremely resourceful – an asset to any team.
- The unemployment rate for military spouse’s hovers between 20-30%. This impacts the financial stability of military families, military retention rates, and ultimately military readiness.
- Organizations that hire military spouses find they often share mutual values such as teamwork, flexibility, patriotism, and adaptability.
Colorado Springs: Where Military Families Thrive & Succeed

Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak region are home to five military installations and approximately 30% of our region’s population includes active duty service members, veterans, and military families. Our installations include Fort Carson Army Post, Peterson Space Force Base, Schriever Space Force Base, Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station, and the United States Air Force Academy.
Colorado Springs is designated as a Bronze Military Friendly® Employer by the Military Friendly® Advisory Council. Our community boasts a nationally recognized defense community and forward leaning organizations that support our military community. We provide resources for family resiliency, service transition, and veteran support.
Championing the Military Spouse Community Coalition (MSCC) under the Office of the Mayor lends credibility and influence to the organization, ensuring the military spouse community is an integral part of the broader defense ecosystem and reinforces the military community’s essential role in the city.
Mayor Yemi recently remarked, “I am grateful for the sacrifice and selfless service of our men and women in uniform and I recognize the challenges they face in the line of duty and at home. To all the active-duty military, veterans, and their families, we SEE you and we thank you for your sacrifice. May God bless you and keep you. We are Colorado Springs!”
