
The public is invited to celebrate the 20th annual Bighorn Sheep Day at the Garden of the Gods Visitor and Nature Center on Saturday, Feb. 15, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. This free, family event includes wildlife viewing stations, live animals, nature walks, education booths, youth crafts, giveaways and more.
“We are excited to host the 20th Annual Bighorn Sheep Day, a great family event that offers fun for all ages,” said Bret Tennis, park administrator at Garden of the Gods Park. “This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the majestic Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep and their vital role in our ecosystem. We invite everyone to come out, enjoy engaging activities, and deepen your appreciation for these animals and their habitat.”
This popular event hosts between 2,500 to 4,000 people each year. Organizing partners include Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services, Bear Creek Nature Center, Colorado Parks & Wildlife, Friends of Garden of the Gods (FOGG), Garden of the Gods Visitor and Nature Center, the U.S. Forest Service, Nature’s Educators, Pikes Peak - America’s Mountain, Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep Society and Visit Colorado Springs.
