On Thursday, October 16, 2025, detectives with the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) Armed Violent Offenders (AVO) Unit executed a search warrant at an apartment in the 1600 block of North Murray Boulevard related to an investigation into a shooting in Colorado Springs tied to a smash-and-grab burglary that took place in Security-Widefield. (blotter #35690). One juvenile was taken into custody without incident at the apartment in the 1600 block of North Murray Boulevard.

Detectives then learned that a second suspect involved in the smash-and-grab burglary investigation was at school. When the suspect was contacted at the school, he fled. During the ensuing foot pursuit, the suspect attempted to carjack multiple occupied vehicles that were stopped on westbound Vickers Drive at the intersection of Vickers Drive and North Academy Boulevard.

The juvenile suspect is described as a White/Hispanic male, about 5’7” tall with a slim build, weighing about 130 lbs., with short brown hair and brown eyes. The suspect was wearing a grey hoodie and baggy blue jeans. He was taken into custody without further incident near the intersection. The two juveniles are facing charges including burglary, motor vehicle theft, criminal mischief, attempted robbery, and kidnapping.

CSPD is asking anyone who may have been the victim of an attempted carjacking at the intersection of Vickers Drive and North Academy, or other crimes in relation to this case, to please contact CSPD at 719-444-7000.
