On September 2, 2025, at approximately 12:20 AM, the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) received a call for service regarding a traffic crash near mile marker four along Rampart Range Road. Colorado Springs Fire Department personnel, along with CSPD, responded to the area and began searching for the crash.
According to the initial information, the vehicle left the roadway and rolled multiple times. A passenger of the vehicle was able to walk away from the crash and sought help from a passing motorist. Officers located the vehicle and found one occupant deceased. CSPD’s Major Crash Team responded to conduct the investigation.
On September 3rd, 2025, the El Paso County Coroner’s Office conducted an autopsy on the deceased and identified him as 32-year-old Samuel Marsh.
This was the 40th traffic fatality in Colorado Springs this year. At this time last year, there were 37 traffic fatalities. In the past 365 days, there have been 52 traffic fatalities.
