Mountain Metropolitan Transit (MMT) rolled out a colorful celebration of student creativity and environmental awareness with a special visit from the School Art Bus at Palmer High School on Tuesday, October 28.

As part of the Ride Free Summer 2025 initiative, MMT invited Palmer High School art students to design a full bus wrap that celebrates summer fun and promotes clean air. Students submitted three vibrant designs, and elements from each were combined into one final wrap ensuring every participating artist is represented on the bus.

This creative endeavor was made possible through a partnership with  Colorado Springs School District 11 and with funding from the Ozone Season Free Transit Grant Program, that supports both clean air and the use of public transit.

“This is more than just a bus, this is a rolling tribute to student creativity and a cleaner future,” said Lan Rao, Transit Division Manager.  “We’re proud to partner with Colorado Springs School District 11 to bring this vision to life.”

The final wrap was installed just before the start of the school year, and now the bus is making a celebratory stop at Palmer High School to honor the student artists and showcase their work.
