Meet the CSPD SRO Supervisory Team
Lt. Kevin Miyakusu
I am Lieutenant Kevin Miyakusu, and I joined the Colorado Springs Police Department in 1993. During my 30-year career I have worked as a patrol officer in the Sand Creek Division, as a Neighborhood Policing Unit Officer and School Resource Officer at Sierra High School. I was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2007, where I supervised a shift of patrol officers in the Gold Hill Division. In 2013, I was selected as the Detective Sergeant for the Gold Hill Division Property Crimes and Auto Theft Unit. I was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in 2019 and I was assigned to manage the swing shift at the Falcon Division. In 2022, I was selected to manage the School Resource Officer and Community Response Team Units. I am currently in charge of 24 School Resource Officers, 4 CRT Officers and 3 Sergeants.
I have served on the Pikes Peak Domestic Violence Summit Committee for 10 years. The Pikes Peak Domestic Violence Summit was established by a network of criminal justice agencies, community members, and domestic violence treatment providers who shared the vision and need for specialized training relating to violence in intimate partner relationships.
I am a graduate of the Leadership Pikes Peak Signature Class of 2020 (Best Class EVER!). The Signature Program is the flagship Community Leadership Program for established professionals. This 10-month community leadership program, from August to June, educates participants facing important issues in the Pikes Peak region, and meet and learn from the community’s most dynamic leaders.
I was awarded my bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from New Mexico State University in 1991.
Sgt. Rick Bubacz
I have been with CSPD since February 2003 and prior to that I was deputy with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office for roughly four years. I served as the SRO for Coronado High School from 2008-2012 and was promoted to sergeant in April 2012. In May 2013 I became one of the SRO sergeants that oversees the unit. I believe the SRO position is one of the most important on the department because it truly is a proactive job that helps build positive relationships between youth and law enforcement.
I moved to Colorado in 1997 from the east coast and I am a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates and Penguins fan. When not at work I enjoy outdoor activities, such as hiking with my wife and our dog, fishing, hunting, camping and riding OHVs on the trails throughout the state.
Sgt. Robert Lichti
I joined the Colorado Springs Police Department in August 2008, serving as a Patrol Officer in the Gold Hill and Stetson Hills Divisions. Throughout my patrol duties, I took on the role of Police Training Officer (PTO) and engaged in training responsibilities. I then spent approximately six years as a Tech Officer, I was promoted to Sergeant in March 2021 and became one of the SRO Sergeants in 2025, where I contribute to the supervision of the unit.
I take great pleasure in my role within the SRO unit, which exemplifies a collaborative and proactive approach to policing, engaging with schools, parents, and students to enhance community welfare. Having been raised in California, I have resided in Colorado for around 25 years. I have a passion for sports and enjoy camping with my family.
Sgt. Robert Dazey
I have been a police officer since 1986. Prior to my current 25 years with the Colorado Springs Police Department, I was with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office and a police officer in the United Stated Air Force. I have served in every aspect of law enforcement, to include SWAT, K-9, detective, dispatch, and School Resource officer, to name a few. Of all the positions I have been fortunate to work, I enjoy the School Resource officer the most. I truly believe it is one of the few positions in law enforcement that you get to see an immediate positive return on the work you do with the students. I was recently selected to oversee the Community Response unit and the School Resource officers assigned to District 2. This has given me another chance to get back to what I love most, working with kids.
My family moved to Colorado Springs in 1972, I was nine years old. I have had a chance to see this city grow. I am loyal Colorado sports fan, rooting for the Broncos, Avalanche, Nuggets and Rockies. When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two children. My son is as active in sports as I was at his age, so I get a chance to relive my childhood sports days through lifting weights with him and cheering him on in football and wrestling. My daughter is carbon copy of me, enough said. I would probably enjoy a lot of other hobbies, but currently my wife and children are my full time hobby.
