Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services invites visitors to explore Garden of the Gods Park without motor vehicle traffic at several events in 2025 that will provide hikers, bikers and others a peaceful and eco-friendly experience of the Natural National Landmark.

Motorless Morning, Sunday, April 27

This popular semi-annual event will eliminate all motor vehicle access within Garden of the Gods Park from 5 a.m. to noon, allowing visitors to utilize the road on foot, bike, skateboard or longboard, providing a unique and quiet experience in the park.

An accessible vehicle into the main parking lot will be available upon request during Motorless Morning. All park visitors will have access to accessible routes into and throughout the park, and the City will permit the use of other power-driven mobility devices (OPDMD), per its OPDMD policy.

Early Bird Hike & Bikes, Wednesdays in May through Sept.

Garden of the Gods Park will also host its monthly Early Bird Hike & Bikes in May through September from 5-8 a.m. on the following Wednesdays: May 21, June 25, July 23, Aug. 27 and Sept. 24. These mornings will also allow visitors to explore the Park without motor vehicle traffic. Park rules and regulations apply, and per normal park rules, skateboards and longboards are not permitted during these events.

During both events, park rules and regulations, including cycling speed limits and one-way traffic apply to all users. Visitors are asked to follow all signage and use caution in designated slow zones.

For convenience, guests can park at one of the designated locations during the events:

  • Garden of the Gods Visitor and Nature Center (1805 30th Street)
  • Garden of the Gods Trading Post (324 Beckers Lane, Manitou Springs)
  • Parking Lot 1 at Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site (corner of 30th Street and Gateway Road).

The first Motorless Morning was held in April 2018 and Early Bird Hike & Bikes were introduced in 2020.
