Southbound traffic on Tejon Street, north of Pikes Peak Avenue, will experience a traffic lane shift for utilities work Monday, Aug. 4 through Friday, Aug. 8, as part of the Tejon Street Revitalization Project.
Motorists and pedestrians can expect the southbound lane of Tejon to shift into the center turn lane for about 200 feet to allow crews working for Colorado Springs Utilities to replace an aging water valve Monday overnight and move a fire hydrant late Tuesday night. The work involves heavy equipment and excavation of the street.
The Tejon Street Revitalization Project, between Colorado and Pikes Peak Avenue, expands outdoor dining areas and sidewalks with the goal of increasing public safety, pedestrian accessibility and business activity.
