The City of Colorado Springs and Trails and Open Space Coalition (TOSC) invite residents to volunteer at a Keep It Clean COS community cleanup event on Saturday, Aug. 23 from 9 a.m. to noon along the Pikes Peak Greenway Trail around Monument Valley Park.
Keep It Clean COS is a dedicated, citywide effort to remove trash from medians, streets and other public rights of way. Keep it Clean COS is powered by the dedicated work of our City departments, the support of our community partners, and the everyday actions of Colorado Springs residents.
This year, thanks to the Keep it Clean COS initiative, 7,890,000 square feet of medians have been cleaned, and since 2023, more than 77,950 labor hours have been logged for trash cleanup.
The cleanup event is sponsored by TOSC, Cumulus Media, Phil Long Dealerships, and Earthwise Waste Solutions. Participants are encouraged to bring water and wear pants and closed-toed shoes. All other supplies including pickers, gloves and trash bags will be provided. Participants are asked to meet at the east lawn at Monument Valley Park. Parking is available in Monument Valley Park and along Mesa Road.
