Motorists and pedestrians can expect changes in traffic patterns starting on Monday, Aug. 18 as the Tejon Street Revitalization Project marks the halfway mark.

The week of Aug. 18:

  • A full closure to vehicle traffic on Block 1 (Tejon Street from Colorado Avenue to Pikes Peak Avenue) as milling, paving and striping work happens. Sidewalks will be available to pedestrians during this time. This block is expected to reopen to two-way vehicle traffic and on-street, diagonal parking as early as Monday, Aug. 25.
  • A potential lane shift on northbound Tejon Street north of Pikes Peak Avenue. Colorado Springs Utilities needs to perform electric system work and work crews may begin removing and replacing concrete on the southeast corner of the block.

Starting Sept. 2 until further notice:

  • A full closure of vehicle traffic on Block 2 (Tejon Street from Pikes Peak Avenue to East Kiowa Street) in both directions as sidewalk, patio and street improvements begin. Pedestrian routes remain open to provide access to businesses. Street parking will not be available until further notice. Businesses on this block will receive vouchers for two hours’ free parking at the three City garages nearby.

The Tejon Street Revitalization Project, between Colorado and East Kiowa Street, expands outdoor dining areas and sidewalks with the goal of increasing public safety, pedestrian accessibility and business activity.
