Every residence or business operating an alarm system in the City of Colorado Springs must obtain an alarm permit.  If your alarm is being monitored by an alarm company, the alarm company is required to register your alarm and process the annual permit fee. Individuals or businesses that self-monitor their alarms must also obtain an alarm permit.

Fees:

  • $24 for business or residential permits
  • $12 for senior residential permits (65 years or older).  Your date of birth (DOB) is required to obtain a senior alarm permit

Permits will be active in 3-5 business days after receipt of payment.  If you would like to check on the status of your permit, call 719-444-7824 or email the Alarms Unit at CSPDAlarms@coloradosprings.gov to verify that an alarm location has been registered.
