About

The City of Colorado Springs has 9,000+ acres of parkland, 500 acres of trails and approximately 1,200 acres of diverse open space. Abundant opportunities for recreation and observing nature are preserved for your enjoyment today and for future generations tomorrow.

Friends Groups are organized groups of volunteers with an interest in assisting the City of Colorado Springs in protecting, enhancing, maintaining and providing education in specific parks, trails and open spaces.

Your Impact

Getting involved with a Friends Group fosters a sense of community and lets you take an active role in preserving and enhancing our green spaces for all to enjoy.

Volunteer Opportunities

In collaboration with Park Rangers, Friends Groups facilitate group projects in support of the areas they represent including invasive plant removal, planting, trail work, and trash cleanups.

Consider also taking the Rocky Mountain Field Institute's Pikes Peak Regional Crew Leader training.
