Northbound Tejon Street will reopen to traffic between Colorado Avenue and Pikes Peak Avenue on Friday, July 11, as the Tejon Street Revitalization Project enters the next phase of construction. Southbound Tejon will be closed temporarily in that block to permit crews to continue work on the west side of the street.
Crews have nearly completed work on the east side of Tejon to widen dining patios and sidewalks with the goal of increasing public safety, pedestrian accessibility, and business activity. Work is already well under way on the west side of Tejon.
The Tejon Street Revitalization Project began construction March 24 and is expected to wrap up the first block of improvements in late August. The finished product will include one northbound and one southbound traffic lane and diagonal parking as before.
Until parking is restored, the City has provided vouchers to area businesses for two hours of free parking at the City’s three parking garages. Learn more about the parking options during the project at coloradosprings.gov/TejonStParkingIncentives.
